Welcome

Disability in Camden (DISC) is an organisation controlled by, and accountable to, disabled people in Camden.

We believe in the establishment of a society in which there are equal opportunities for all.
We believe each individual has the right to control their own life.
We are determined to overcome the barriers faced by disabled people.
We will achieve this by bringing together the strengths, experiences and knowledge of disabled people.
We will represent the interests of disabled people, work with others to initiate change and promote equality of opportunity.

DISC offers a range of services including:

Advice and information on benefits
Advocacy Support
Information and support for BSL users
Employment and Volunteering support
Self Directed Support Service

We also publish Discovery a quarterly magazine for members.

Housing Problems?
DISC is conducting a survey to find out if there is adequate support for people who are having problems with housing. The survey seeks to find out: What people’s needs are and if these needs are being met. We would be grateful if you could complete the following questionnaire.

An evening to reflect - 2011
Every December 3rd the world celebrates the United Nations International Day of Disabled People. On December 1st DISC organised an event to mark this by giving recognition and awards to 3 people who have contributed to the empowerment of Deaf and disabled people in Camden.
