Mission Statement

Disability in Camden (DISC) is an organisation controlled by, and accountable to, disabled people in Camden.

DISC is committed to the establishment of a society in which there are equal opportunities for all disabled people. We believe each individual has the right to control their own life and to share in the opportunities, enjoyment, challenges and responsibilities of everyday life. We recognise that there are many barriers to this including physical access, poverty, negative or indifferent social attitudes and discrimination. We are determined to overcome these.

We believe we can do this by being a focal point and bringing together the strengths, experiences and knowledge of disabled people. Through this resource we can represent the interests of disabled people, work with others to initiate change and promote equality of opportunity. We aim to do this in a flexible and imaginative way.
